- Clean up day has been scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Upchurch Fields (8am-12pm) for Italy citizens. Please bring your ID and water bill.
On Monday, June 13, 2022, the newest elected members were sworn in and took their positions at the Council table. Incumbent Luin McConnell was voted in for another term, while Robert Hodge and William Panther are brand new to the City Council scene. Brooke Boyd was voted to finish Ms. Elmerine Bell’s term after Bell’s resignation earlier this year. After the oaths were taken, each member took their newly appointed spot. First order of business was to vote for a new Mayor Pro-tem. One name was submitted for the job and Brooke Boyd was appointed.
Mayor Cockran reflected upon the outgoing council, “I want to let Randy Boyd, Vincent Fleming and Elmerine Bell know that they are appreciated for all of their hard work and diligence for the citizens of Italy. We thank you for your heartfelt contributions and you will be missed.”
The next regular City Council meeting is scheduled for July 11, 2022 at 6pm at Italy City Hall at 161 W. Main St. Everyone is invited to listen as our city government works.
