On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the newest elected members of the Italy City Council were sworn in and took their positions at the Council table. Incumbents Bryant Cockran and Raymond Mosley were voted in for another 2 year term, while Troy Kowalsky is back to work for the city as he did twice before. Troy served May 2015-May 2017 and again August 2017-May 2018. After the oaths were taken, each member took their newly appointed spot. First order of business was to vote for a new Mayor Pro-tem. One name was submitted for the job and William Panther was appointed by the current council.
Mayor Cockran reflected upon the outgoing council, “I want to let Brooke Boyd know that she is appreciated for all of her hard work and diligence for the citizens of Italy. We thank you for your heartfelt contributions and you will be missed.”
The City Council for 2023 includes Mayor Bryant Cockran, Robert Hodge, Troy Kowalsky, Luin McConnell, Mayor Pro-tem William Panther and Raymond Mosley. The next regular City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 12, 2023 at 6pm at Italy City Hall at 161 W. Main St. Everyone is invited to listen as our city government works.
