On Monday, November 16, 2020, the Italy City Council convened to swear in 2 incumbent members and 1 new member of the City Council. Mayor Bryant Cockran gave the oath of office to Luin McConnell and Randy Boyd. The Mayor also swore in new member, Vincent Fleming, who seemed very excited about the future of the city of Italy, “First, I would like to thank God for allowing me to run and be on the Italy City Council and the citizens who voted for me. I will do the very best I can,” Fleming said after the ceremony. Elmerine Bell welcomed Vincent during the meeting, “I welcome you and am looking forward to working with you.” Each member of the Italy City Council agreed to the sentiment.
The Italy City Council meets the first Monday of every month and all citizens of Italy are encouraged to either attend in person or by Zoom.
