Police Department is Building For Tomorrow
The innovations of our Italy Police Department are shining through. There has been a Citizen’s Police Academy before, however, in Chief Scott McAuley’s mind, it’s time to have it again. Starting January 13, 2022, Investigator Bob Willbanks will oversee the 12 week course that includes a ride-along with officers, fingerprinting, investigating, etc… Of course, these cases will be hypothetical and not actual events.
The Citizen’s Academy is a goodwill effort put forth by the police department to share some of the behind the scenes terms, ideas and secrets. It is informative and interesting. Someone might learn what a police officer has to go through on a daily basis and will enhance relationships between the public and the police department.
