On June 19, 2021, The City of Italy was honored by The Texas Historical Commission and a beautiful plaque was dedicated for Italy Colored City Hall, located at 605 Williams St. There were many that turned out to enjoy the honors. Ms. Elmerine Allen Bell was at the forefront of designing and opening the museum. The Colored City Hall houses memorabilia, photos, memories and several stories of yesteryear. The museum is open to the public and if you would like to make a donation of any kind or just visit the facility, please contact Ms. Bell at 214-926-7452.
